Silverton Colorado

My kayaking buddies and I have been hoping to get down to Silverton Colorado for the past few years to do some steep and deep skiing. In November 2009, I decided to pull the trigger and put a trip together. With a little work, we managed to get a group of 8 skiiers and boarders together for the trip. Skiing is guided in Silverton and the magic number is 8 to have a full guided trip.

...a carefully planned affair.

We managed 4 laps the first day for about 9,200 ft vert and 5 laps the second day for about 12,000 ft vert. The first day was a tad on the crusty side, but the second was pure sweet pow for the first 1500 ft vert of each run. I've never skied such consistently steep terrain. You can bet your ass I'll be back!

February 12 & 13, 2011. Somewhere snowy. See you there!
